Stockholm, Helsinki and more beautiful time at sea

And so, the ship and its happy occupants made their way to Stockholm, one of my favourite places in our whole Baltic itinerary. Stockholm is a stunning city, and equally beautiful is the sail in/sail away.

Made up of hundreds of tiny islands, (many of them lived on) the waters nearing the city are like a freeway for cruise ships.

I love being on deck here when we are coming or going. The sun seems to tint the air with gold and the water is a deep, rich blue.

Stockholm is a city filled with amazing architecture and whimsical design. Some wise ruler actually made it law that all the buildings would be painted in colourful pastels. The result, which still exists today, is breathtaking.

My sister the Viking.

Hehe ... Mom is so cute in the background.

Even Jack decided to get off the ship and enjoy the city.

Shopaholics. Well, one of them anyway.

This is a city that seems to glow from the inside.
Swedish crystal.

In Gamla Stan, the Old City.
Lunchtime! Incase anyone notices I will tell you that I cropped Aunt Therese out of the photo, because it wasn't a very flattering picture of her. We can just pretend she took the picture.

Sushi and sail-away.
Welcome to Heksinki.

My sister is so darn cute.
They are really, really happy to be here :P
We spent quite a bit of time wandering through this market. I love markets.

My mom bought this little hat.

A beautiful church that is one of Helsinki's main landmarks.
Aunt Therese was brave and had reindeer soup for lunch. Mom and I had sandwiches. Eliza had McDonald's.
Oh how we loved this back deck on the ship. Amazing, too, that we often had it to ourselves.

Sunset at sea.
