Three lovely ladies on a whirlwind tour of Amsterdam, the Baltic and Russia...

Well, finally, here are some pictures from the trip that Mom, Eliza and Aunt Therese took here last month. I will warn you, these are not all of the pictures. This blog will probably see two more posts from this trip before you can begin to get a sense of the whole trip.

The trip got off to an excellent start when the girls got bumped up to first class on their flight from Halifax to London. They were wined, dined and pampered as they made their way over the Atlantic Ocean.

Chillin in their little first class "pods". Their luck is amazing. After dozens of flights slogging around the world in coach, with not even a whisper about first class, I'll admit that I am a little jealous. In a nice way.

Once they arrived in Amsterdam they were joined by my Aunt Therese's daughter who was working as an au pair in England for the summer.

They proceeded to spend four days wandering, eating, carousing and generally making merry while admiring this beautiful city.

Incidentally these are my favourite buildings in Amsterdam. They remind me of cookies.

At the flower market, an Amsterdam highlight.

A few days later I turned up with the ship, dragged their stuff onboard, then went out to explore the city some more.

Here they are at the crew entrance to the ship, which is an excellent way to avoid a lineup full of 2000 other guests.
After a tour of the whole ship, we settled in at the Cova Cafe, where we sipped lattes and they told me all about Amsterdam.
First night onboard, they relaxed in the Rendez-vous lounge listening to jazz with Jack. It is right below the casino so I could run down on my breaks.
Mom and Aunt Therese's room. Eliza had her own room, but Jack sent Mom and Aunt Therese flowers, fruit and champagne. Maybe Eliza should have stayed with them after all :P.

The dining room where they ate dinner most nights.
A peek of the pool deck.
Entrance to the buffet.
View of the main foyer, shops and Cova.

After sailing from Amsterdam we had a full day at sea, which was also the first formal night of the cruise. I think that the ladies all looked beautiful.
Eliza with her champagne at the Captain's toast in the theatre.
First stop: Copenhagen, Denmark. Copenhagen is a very pretty little city with a bright, colourful harbour.
This area, Nyhavn Harbour, was once a favourite haunt of sailors visiting the port, if you know what I mean. Hans Christian Andersen also lived in one of these houses. Today, the area has been revitalized and is filled with restaurants, bars and of course tourists.
Hans Christian Andersen lived, and wrote, in the red house.
I love seeing my Mommy in Europe!!! :)
Copenhagen (and Denmark in general) is famous for its architecture. Check out the sights just on this shopping street.

My sister, standing next to the world's tallest man. She looks even smaller and cuter than usual.

Okay that's it for now, more adventures to come as soon as I have a chance... enjoy!

I was waiting and waiting for some pictures, thanks so much. Eliza hasn't made it home yet so I haven't seen any pics other than the beautiful ones taken on the ship.
I bet you are very excited to soon be here! I have a little "public speaking" question to ask you when you're home:)
Looking forward to seeing you and more pics from your visit with the ladies.

Hello ladies! It's been far too long since I dropped a comment, although I check the blog frequently! You girls look like you had a blast, and all look so beautiful! What a fanstastic thing, to be a able to travel and experience all of this (at least sometimes) with your beautiful family. Hugs and kisses for all...

Miss Myra,
Wow, I haven't looked at this blog in months...and months. Ever since I got back from Japan this passed winter, it's been a whirlwind of change for me. So I sheepishly apologize for having fallen out of touch with the blog. Although I already sent you an email about a week ago, I just wanted to post a comment here. I am so blown away by the geography you have covered since I last looked at the blog! As usual, your words are eloquent and beautiful, and your National Geographic-worthy photos channel us all to where you are, where youve been. I look forward to getting back in touch, my Hali friend. Thinking of you.

HI Myra.

Sean said you may be leaving the casino biz? What's the scoop? When do you get home anyhow, a phone date may be in order.

I just made some Mulligatawnyesque soup and I think you would have loved it.

Say hi to Jacko.
